What a service landing page needs to earn an enquiry
Use this service-page checklist to connect a clear offer, relevant proof, useful FAQs and an honest next step.
A service page has a specific job: help a potential customer decide whether your offer fits their problem. A visually impressive page can still fail at that job if visitors cannot understand what they are buying or what happens next.
Lead with the service and the outcome
Write the opening section so a new visitor can identify the service, intended customer and practical benefit without scrolling. “Website development for service businesses” conveys more than a slogan on its own. Keep the brand personality, but put an explanation beside it.
Use one primary call to action. A consultation can suit a complex project; a fixed-scope service may suit a quote request. Secondary links can help visitors explore work without competing with the main action.
Make the scope tangible
Explain deliverables, boundaries and client responsibilities. For a website project, that might include design, development, content migration and launch support, with hosting or ongoing maintenance discussed separately. Only list items that are actually included in the proposed engagement.
Place proof beside the relevant claim
Link to a comparable project near your description of the work. Give context: the brief, your contribution and the finished deliverable. Do not attach unrelated performance figures to a visual showcase. Real evidence helps prospects assess fit without inflated promises.
Answer the questions that delay contact
- What information should a client bring to the first call?
- How is scope agreed and approved?
- Who supplies copy, images and account access?
- What is reviewed before launch?
- What ongoing support can be discussed?
Avoid publishing a universal delivery deadline if timing depends on scope or approvals. Give the dependency clearly and confirm the schedule during planning.
Measure a useful next step
Separate a consultation-button click from a completed booking, and a form start from a received enquiry. Otherwise a page can appear successful while generating no conversations. Review lead relevance as well as volume: a smaller number of suitable enquiries can be more useful than a large number outside your service area or budget.
Finally, test on a small screen. The heading, offer, proof and contact route must still work without a desktop layout. Explore our website development service and portfolio for the next step.
